Volkswagen Polo GTI launched at Paris – 1.8L TSI produces 192PS, 0-100 sprint in 6.7 seconds only

This year’s edition of the Paris Motor Show is turning out to be more and more interesting as the days progress. A number of exclusive launches have taken place at the event already and Volkswagen has joined the party by show casing the grand new edition of Polo GTI hatch back. The new edition hatch back comes with some visual tweaks but the most significant change would be the new engine under the hood.

Volkswagen is expecting to keep the momentum of the Polo series going with the addition of the new Polo GTI 2015. The new edition hatch back has some visual similarities with the current gen Polo Facelift. The front fascia of the new Polo comes with the honey comb shaped grille and trendy bumpers. Red coloured accents in the front grille gives a unique look to the face of the hatch back and the iconic metallic logo of the manufacturer adds to the elegance of the vehicle for sure.

The current gen edition of the Polo hatch back comes powered with a 1.4 litre TSI engine. The same has been replaced with a brand new 1.8 litre TSI engine that is capable of producing a massive 192 PS power at the peak along with 320 Nm of torque. The respective engine comes mated with a six speed manual transmission gear box as standard and there is no other choice available for buyers currently. It’s quite surprising to get such huge power output from the respective engine and transmission combination and the output is just as same as produced by a seven speed DSG combination.

The manufacturer has claimed that the new Polo GTI 2015 is capable of attaining 100 kmph speed from rest within just 6.7 seconds only and the top speed of the model is around 236 kmph. Some of the significant features of the model include LED day time running lights, dual exhaust system, 17 inch alloy wheels and etc.
