Ram Gopal Varma’s Anukshanam Review: A Psycho Thriller

Ram Gopal Varma is one such director who makes movies with low budget. He is not worried about hits and flops. Recently he released a movie with the name Ice Cream which was also a budget film. His latest film that hit the silver screen today is ‘Anukshanam’. The movie was made along with Manchu Vishnu on 24 Frames Factory banner.

Vijayawada: Surya is a psycho and is a serial killer. He murders women in Hyderabad city and becomes a challenge for the police department. Police officer Gautam finds it difficult to arrest the serial killer. What strategies he follows to catch the serial killer and how he succeeds in stopping the serial murders forms the rest of the story.

Surya is a new actor and he got a good role as a serial killer in the movie Anukshanam. Though new to the screen he exhibited his talent. he is lucky to get a chance to play a crucial role in the film. he is sure to get many more offers after this film.

Manchu Vishnu played the character of police officer. Manchu Vishnu showed his mark in portraying the role of a police officer. His expressions, looks, walking style are good. He attracts the audience with different looks.

Yesteryears heroine Revathi appears as a researcher. Revathi manages to portray the role which helps the police department to catch the serial killer. Madhu Shalini acted as TV anchor. Other important characters are played by Tejaswini, Navdeep and Sujith.

The role of photography and re-recording is very crucial for the movie Anukshanam. Lighting is used perfectly to create tempo, mood and ambience. Ramgopal Varma is a genius in balancing the technical elements, which need not be specially mentioned.

Anukshanam movie is inspired by the lives of serial killers who kill people just for their enjoyment. The behavior and psychology of a serial killer is shot perfectly. Technical elements are used to elevate the story. There are some drawbacks such as finishing the climax abruptly but Varma succeeded in covering them with technical elements. Anukshanam is one of the best movie from Varma in recent times which is a relief for his ans. The movie can be enjoyed by those who love watching crime episodes on television.
