Ulavacharu Biryani Review: Story is the Big Minus Point for the Film

Ulavacharu Biryani is a remake of Malayalam comedy movie. The movie is directed by Prakash Raj. Sneha and Prakash Raj are in the lead roles. The movie did not reach the expectations of the audience due to weak story. Music of Ilayaraja is good.

Rajahmundry: Prakash Raj is one of the finest actors in southern India. He earlier directs a film Dhoni and received applause. He now brought another remake movie ‘Ulavacharu Biryani’. this movie is inspired by a Malayalam comedy movie which was released in 2011 and was a big hit. The teasers and the songs increased expectations on the movie.

Kalidas, the character played by Prakash Raj is unmarried. He is an officer working in archeology department. Sneha is a movie dubbed artist who remains unmarried due to Kuja dosha in her astrology. both talk over phone one day due to a wrong mobile call and decide to meet as their hobbies and tastes are much similar. A side story of Samyuktha Hornad and Tejus is also introduced. Tejus is the nephew of Prakash Raj. What happens to Prakash Raj’s love is the remaining story.

Prakash Raj and Sneha are good actors and played different roles earlier. Characterization of these two is not very good and both have no scope to show their talent. Second half of the movie tests the patience of the audience. Supporting characters are played by Urvasi, MS Narayana, Brahmaji and Devyani and the characters have not much importance.

Cinematography is one of the highlights of the movie Ulavacharu Biryani. Ilayaraja’s music failed to keep the interest of the audience. Though the sons have feel, the picturization of them is not good. Prakash Raj seems to have failed to score marks as a producer and director of this film. There is no clarity in the story, lack of feel in the lover story etc are the reason the film might end up as a flop.Photography and Ilayaraja’s music are the only attractions of Ulavacharu Biryani movie. Story is the big minus point for the film.
