17.04.2015: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is honored with White House Champions of Change award. He is one of the 12 local champions to be honored with this. This is given to those who help make changes in communities or companies and support working families.

17.04.2015: Delhi Transport Corporation appointed V Saritha as the driver. She is the first driver of the corporation. V Saritha is 30 years old.

Sher-i-Kashmir Award for 16 year old Navjot Singh

17.04.2015: Navjot Singh a young athlete from Jammu and Kashmir is honored with Sher-i-Kashmir award. He is one of the best sportsperson for 2008-09. He won a silver medal at Junior National Aerobic Gymnastics at Rajkot in 2007.

Stanislav Gross, Czech Republic Former PM is No More

17.04.2015: Former Czech Republic Prime Minister Stanislav Gross passed away due to illness at an young age. He was just 45. He became the prime minister of Czech Republic in 2004 and was in power till 2005. He was only 34 then. He is the youngest prime minister of the country.

KP Bhaskar, Indian Classical Dance Maestro Passed Away

17.04.2015: Indian Classical Dane Maestro KP Bhaskar of Kerala died at the age of 88. He started his Bharathanatyam academy in Singapore and went on to become one of the first few dance instructors. He wrote books on Indian dance. He won many awards including Singapore’s Meritorious Services Medal.

J & K Police Arrest Masarat Alam, Hurriyat Leader

17.04.2015: Hurriyat leader Masarat Alam is arrested in Srinagar by police. A case of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act is filed against him. He raised pro Pakistan slogans and waved the country’s flag in a rally a couple of days ago.

BJP won Municipal Corporation of Delhi civic body elections

17.04.2015: The first civic body election held after division of Municipal Corporation of Delhi helped BJP boost its confidence when the creditability of the party is on a downward spiral. BJP managed to win 138 of the 272 wards. The election for east, south and north corporations were held on April 15th.
