Small Screen Offering Full With Big Hit Shows
Many channels of small screen are offering hit shows running for many episodes.
Vijayawada: Small screen has been an alternative name for entertainment at home. With the increased number of channels (and the number of channels is increasing on a daily basis), every channel is trying its best to retain and improve the TRP ratings. The variety of programs offered by these channels includes many shows that are running for numerous episodes without any interruption.
ETV gained popularity with its ‘Paduta Teeyaga’ wherein the evergreen singer SP Balu has been trying his best to bring out the singing talent of people of various ages and various places. The program has been enjoyed by the audience at 21.30 hours on every Monday since its commencement. This wonderful singing program has already completed more than 400 episodes and 7 series (presently 8th series is in progress). The program initially started in 1990’s brought out wonderful singers like Hemachandra, Kausalya, Gopika Purnima, Sandip, Karunya, Mallikarjuna, Usha etc.
The show ensured participation of veterans (from different walks of film industry) including musicians, singers, directors etc. Some of the prominent film personalities that participated in the show as co judges (besides SPB) include ANR, Keeravani, Singeetam Srinviasa Rao etc.
ETV has been continuously entertaining audience with it’s another successful program WOW with Dialogue King Sai Kumar as the anchor cum host. 145 episodes have already been completed. The beauty of this show is that each of the episode is having begin and end in itself i.e., each episode is independent of other episodes. The show has been able to put up some special episodes like movie specials, TV anchors specials etc. The original show timing has been on Sundays night between 9.30 hours.
One of the rounds in this show has been ‘Item Raja’ which has been receiving increasing popularity about the performance of Ali as Item Raja. The Katravalli is declared at end of each of the episode. The round ‘Kasko Na Maspatri’ where the Bull ride is to continue for 1 minute is also an added attraction for this show.
ETV’s WOW by dialogue king Sai Kumar is another program worth mentioning that has been increasing its popularity. Starting on 15th August 2010 this show has been continuously running with a minor change in the name. The show re-started with renewed name as WOW-2 and another change is that the prize money got increased from Rs.5 lacs (in WOW series) to Rs.9 lacs in WOW-2 series. Like other shows of ETV, WOW is also having specials like family special, movie team special, singers special etc.
