Peugeot launched 208 Gti 30th Anniversary Edition at Good Wood – To go on sale by November, 2014

The most awaited Good Wood Festival of Speed has commenced and some of the exclusive launches have brought forward on the first day. Peugeot has come up with an exclusive edition of the GTi series and the new hatch back has been dubbed as 208 GTi 30th Anniversary Edition at the event. The new model has climbed the hill at Good Wood Festival of Speed with rapid speeds and the model has once again proved the agility of Peugeot’s GTi series.

Commenting about the launch, Mr. Julien Kerlidou, the Product Manager for the 208 GTi has stated “The 208 GTi 30th builds on the virtues of a strong identity, great attention to detail and in the style of the 208 GTi, and takes on a more radical and brutish fashion, making the link with the inclusive character of its dynamic performance”. Mr. Maxime Picat, the Chief Executive Officer for Peugeot has stated “As with the project of this type, there was a convergence of ideas and needs. Following on from the RCZ R, Peugeot Sport proposed that the brand make a more radical version of the 208 GTi. At the same time the Brand thought about how best to celebrate 30 years of the Peugeot GTi in 2014”.

The brand new Peugeot 208 Gti 30th Anniversary Edition comes powered with a 1.6 litre THP petrol engine which is capable of generating around 206 bhp at the peak along with 300 Nm of torque. Engine comes accompanied with a 6 speed manual transmission gear box as standard and it allows the hatch back to sprint 100 kmph speed from rest within just 6.5 seconds only. The manufacturer has show cased the model at the Good Wood Festival of Speed and it’s the global debut of the model too. It is informed that Peugeot is likely to show case the new edition 208 Gti at this year’s Paris Motor Show 2014 and it will be available for sale from this November.

Peugeot is offering optional dual tone color with the 30th Anniversary Edition 208 Gti which allows the buyer to get his unit painted in Ruby red at the rear limited to particular area and the remaining area gets painted with black colour. Larger wheels with alloys describes the sportiveness of the vehicle and the rear end gets the twin exhaust system.
