Hyundai to launch ix25 Compact SUV in October – Tackles Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano

Hyundai has not yet launched the brand new ix25 which can be considered as one of the most awaited models of the year 2014 but some sources in the Chinese Social Media have already started publishing stories and exclusive news about the compact SUV. Most of the information of the unrevealed Sports Utility Vehicle has already been revealed and as per the information, a total seven variants of the model are going to be available in Chinese market.

The manufacturer has revealed the production ready version of the ix 25 compact SUV at this year’s Beijing Motor Show that was held in the month of April. Several test mules of the model were spotted in the past and almost all spy images of the model have gone viral over web. Hyundai is hoping to have a breakthrough with the ix25 compact SUV and the manufacturer is confident that the upcoming SUV could beat some of the well reputed rival models such as Ford Eco Sport and Renault Duster easily. As we could observe from the spy images of the model and the prototype displayed at the Beijing Motor Show 2014, ix 25 compact SUV has an appealing look undoubtedly which is both trendy and tough.

As per the information, Hyundai is likely to offer seven variants of the compact SUV and the respective variants will carry two distinct engines most probably. The base variants are expected to get powered with a 1.6 litre four cylinder whereas the higher end variants would get powered with a 2.0 litre mill. Entry level variants are expected to carry two wheel drive power train whereas the higher end variants would come up with four wheel drive system. We can also expect the upcoming compact SUV to carry a 6 speed automatic transmission or a 6 speed manual transmission gear box as standard.

Ix 25 is expected to be made available for sale in the Chinese marker from the first week of October this year and the model is expected to be produced at the joint venture of Beijing – Hyundai. There is no information about the Indian launch of the model so far but some test mules of the model were also spied on Indian roads before. However, Hyundai should ensure that the compact SUV is capable of tackling with rival models such as Mahindra Scorpio, Nissan Terrano, Ford Eco Sport and Renault Duster in order to survive in the Indian market.
