BMW X5 xDrive30d local production started – Priced Rs. 70.90 lakhs only to tackle Audi Q7 and Mercedes GL CLass

The Bavarian premium car maker BMW has launched the brand new edition of the X5 Sports Utility Vehicle in the Indian market in the previous month. The model was show cased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014 which was held in the month of February this year at Greater Noida and the production version was launched in the presence of the Legend Sachin Tendulkar on 29th of May. The manufacture has now started producing the exclusive SUV at their production facility located in Chennai.

The huge demand for the model since its launch on the country has surprised the manufacturer and BMW has declared waiting period of three months for the brand new X5 in India. Mr. Philipp Von Sahr, the President for BMW India has stated in this connection “The all new BMW X5 takes things to a new level with more sportiness, spaciousness and comfort, offering customers a ‘luxury all roader’ that meets the most exacting and varied demands. The third generation BMW X5 has received tremendous customer response and excitement since it was first displayed at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014. In fact, the first customer booking for the all new BMW X5 was received at the expo itself. We might also consider ramping up the production to meet the huge demand in the Indian market”.

X5 2014 is going to be one of the most feature rich models in the Indian market currently and it is expected to be a big hit. The maximum seating capacity of the new SUV is 7 and there are three rows of seats inside. The buyer can choose different colour scheme for the interior too which is not generally seen in other models. The SUV comes powered with a 3.0 litre twin turbo charged six cylinder engine that is capable of generating around 255 hp power at the peak along with 560 Nm of torque. Engine comes mated with an 8 speed automatic transmission gear box by default and it is an all wheel drive vehicle basically. As per the information, the new X5 SUV is capable of attaining 100 kmph speed from rest within just 6.9 seconds only and the top speed of the vehicle is around 250 kmph.

BMW has priced the brand new X5 SUV very competitively in order to give a tough competition for rival models such as Audi Q7 and Mercedes GL Class etc in India. X5 is available for sale in India for Rs. 70.90 lakhs only and the manufacturer is likely to start deliveries of the SUV by the end of this month.
