Polling in Seemandhra Tomorrow, May 7: All Set for Polling in Seemandhra Tomorrow

All arrangements aremade for polling in Seemandhra. Polling date is May 7 and the election campaign ended on 5th May. High security arrangements are made for polling and large numbers of voting machines are being used, informed, chief electoral officer Bhanwar Lal.

Ongole: Chief election officer of Andhra Pradesh spoke to the media and said that the voters can cast their vote if they have the voter slip and the staff will not ask for any other identity card. The election staff is also directed to allow the voters who have identity cards approved by election commission if they have their name in voters list but have no voter slip. Distribution of voter slips in all regions except in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada is completed. This procedure will be completed in these two regions by today’s evening.

Nearly 2,30,552 electronic voting machines are used for the elections. 1,29,930 are ballet units and 1,00,622 are control units. There were some problems in Telangana as the electronic voting machines went into factory mode. But care is taken to avoid this situation in Seemandhra.

Tight security arrangements are made for the polling. Services of 1.20 lakh security staff are being utilized. Security is beefed in areas where there is Maoist influence. Two helicopters and on air ambulance is kept ready in Paderu.

Presently it is being discussed whom the voters of Seemandhra will choose after they are badly hurt by the bifurcation of the state. Though the parties are saying that they will win, there are doubts in their minds also.

In Telangana, there was competition was between three parties but in Telangana the fight is between only Telugu Desam Party and YSRCP. Though other political parties are in fray, their fight is only for name sake. TSP and YSRCP are taking the issue of forming the first government in Seemandhra prestigiously. TDP is promising the voters that development of Seemandhra is only possible with them and construction of new capital is also possible with them.

Polling for 175 assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats will be held in Seemandhra tomorrow. The polling time is 7.00 am to 6.00 pm. More than 3.68 crore voters are going to utilize their voting right. 333 candidates are in election fray for the 25 Lok Sabha seats and 2,243 candidates for 175 assembly seats.
