New Delhi: Micromax is offering a wide range of exciting smartphones that are now capable enough to challenge the smartphones being manufactured by premium gadget manufacturers. Its yesteryear flagship, the Canvas HD has had its price dropped to Rs 10,000 and the Lumia 525 is available for a similar amount. Here is a comparative look at Nokia’s Lumia 525 and Micromax’s Canvas HD smartphones to find out which one’s better.

Built: The dimensions of Nokia Lumia 525 are 119.90 x 64.00 x 9.90 mm and it weighs about 124 grams while the dimensions of Micromax Canvas HD are 144.00 x 74.00 x 10.70 mm and it weighs about 156 grams.

Display: Lumia 525 comes with a capacitive touch display of 4 inches with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. On the other hand, Canvas HD features a capacitive touch display of 5 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.

Processor: Lumia 525 has been equipped with a Qualcomm dual core processor of 1 GHz while Canvas HD comes loaded with MediaTek quad core processor of 1.2 GHz.

Software: Lumia 525 functions on Windows Phone 8 platform while Canvas HD functions on Android 4.1 OS.

Our Take: After considering the two smartphones, my verdict is in favor of Micromax Canvas HD as it offers a bigger and better display, faster processor, better rear camera, a front camera as well as dual SIM option.
