Nissan ‘Sport Sedan’ Concept launched at Detroit Motor Show – Next gen Maxima Sedan to have same design

The Japanese automotive giant Nissan has launched the brand new Sport Sedan Concept car at the ongoing Detroit Motor Show 2014. The model features an exclusively fresh design which is likely to be used for the next gen Maxima sedan. Maxima sedan is one of the most reputed sedan models in the American Market from past few years and all the updates of the model launched so far went on successful. Sport Sedan has succeeded in dragging the attention of viewers at the show making a clear statement about how successful the next Maxima is going to be.

Mr. Andy Palmer, the Executive Vice President for Nissan has stated in connection with the launch of the brand new Sport Sedan “The Sport Sedan Concept sports a new highly emotional and energetic design direction that takes Nissan’s legendary approach of applying sports car principles to a sedan to the next level. The sport sedan concept captures that essence with authentic sports car design and proportions”. Sports Sedan Concept is having its dimensions as 4870 mm in length, 1912 mm in width and 1378 mm in height.

Painted in Amber body color, the brand new Sports Sedan looks pretty aggressive and the full glass roof top makes it a perfect premium sedan. The floating roof design of the vehicle is unique and it is going to be seen in the upcoming next gen Maxima sedan most probably. The 21 inch full alloy wheels adds to the beauty of this amazing sports sedan. The vehicle gets powered with a 3.5 litre V6 engine that is capable of generating around 300 hp at the peak very comfortably.

Power gets transmitted to the front wheels of the vehicle through a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) gear box. The external body of the vehicle consists of a number of curves which seems like dents. However, the brand new design pattern of front grille, head lights and other elements impressed most of the viewers at the show. As the model has been launched as a concept sedan, the specifications may get altered in the final production version.
