Micromax Canvas Smartphones Get Ready for their Android Kitkat 4.4 Update

As perthe later tweet from MMXNewscaster, Micromax may release Android 4.4 KitKat update for many of its high end devices (Canvas Series). It is not yet known as to when the KitKat update will be rolled out on specific devices. Treat this as a Rumor, unless there is an official confirmation from Micromax.

Mumbai: Just a few days back WickedLeak announced the Android 4.4 update for Wammy Passion Z+ model. And we expect many more manufacturers to roll out the KitKat update. There was news about Micromax rolling out Jelly Bean 4.3for its Canvas series but it did not happen cause of some OS issue, makes sense to move to 4.4 KitKat now.

As per the list, Micromax will be updating the following Canvas-series smartphones to Android 4.4:

  • Micromax A250 Canvas Turbo
  • Micromax A240 Canvas Doodle 2
  • Micromax A210 Canvas 4
  • Micromax A200 (Upcoming)
  • Micromax A117 Canvas Magnus
  • Micromax A116 Canvas HD
  • Micromax A116i Canvas HD
  • Micromax A114 Canvas 2.2
  • Micromax A111 Canvas Doodle
  • Micromax A110Q Canvas 2 Plus
  • Micromax A110 Canvas 2

If any of you are using any of these handsets you could probably get lucky enough to get the handset updated with the latest software. This is still a rumor we are not yet sure if and when Micromax will make this official. For most of the handsets users might need to visit the service center to get the update done (make sure you call the service center and confirm if they have the update). Some handsets will be able to get the update done via OTA (Over the Air).

But if this turns out to be true, it is awesome news for the Canvas users, since they would get the Android 4.4 directly, skipping the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update.

Even though Android KitKat supports devices with 512MB of RAM, we have not seen a single entry-level smartphone running on Android 4.4 out of the box. Wickedleak announced Android 4.4 KitKat updatefor the Wammy Passion Z+ last week. Everyone want to see other OEMs to offer KitKat update for their devices.
