Mini Cooper 2014 Spotted without Camo – Debut on 18th November at Los Angeles Motor Show

Mini is getting itself ready for launch of the new Cooper S premium hatch back that will be launched at the upcoming Los Angeles Motor Show. A test mule of the model has been spied on roads without much camouflage making it clear to the world that Cooper S is ready for the debut.

The upcoming Mini Cooper 2014 is developed basing on the Rocket man concept that was unveiled in the year 2011. The basic design of the model is unique and Mini is expecting a breakthrough next year with the launch of the new Cooper. All the variants of the model unveiled so far have been very successful in the global market and the upcoming upgrade may adopt the base structure of the former variants. The respective test mule spotted is s fully built unit and it was not wearing any camouflage. Some enthusiast has revealed the respective spy snaps over web.

Under the hood, the model may sport the same three engine trims that were offered with the former variants of the model. In the European market, the base variant of the Cooper was powered with a 1.5 liter turbo charged 3 cylinder engine that is capable of generating around 134 horse power at the peak along with 169 lb – ft of torque. Cooper S which was unveiled later fitted with a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine that is capable of generating around 189 horsepower at the peak along with 221 lb – ft of torque.

Cooper 2014 will be offered with both these engine options and along with them, two other engines may also be offered. A 1.5 liter 3 cylinder diesel engine that can generate around 144 horsepower at the peak along with 199 lb – ft of torque may be offered initially and later a powerful 4 cylinder engine might be added to the portfolio. It was also informed that Mini is looking forward to launch a ‘John Cooper Works Edition’ soon after the official debut of the model. Sources revealed that all variants of the upcoming Mini Cooper 2014 will be offered with both manual as well as automatic transmission gear boxes as per the choice of the buyer.
