Dell coming up with Venue 8 Android tablet
Dell is going to launch a Venue 8 tablet soon. The new tablet will run on Android operating system. Dell companies launched their tablets in 2010, 2011 and were not seen in the market from then. The Venue 8 device is expected to be launched on October 2 event that will be held in New York.
New York: Dell is planning to launch a new tablet soon. The upcoming tablet from Dell is Venue 8. The handset is expected to be launched soon. Dell was not seen much in the tablet market after it launched Streak android tablet with 7 and 10 inch display. These were launched din 2010 and 2011. The new tablet Venue 8 was spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance website
According to the information available on Wi-Fi Alliance website, the new tablet Venue 8 from Dell will come with 8 inch display. It will run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. No other details about the software or hardware specifications of the tablet are revealed till now. The company did not say anything about when the tablet will be released. But since the tablet was already spotted on certification, it may soon be launched.
Earlier it was reported that Dell will be launched 10 inch Windows RT tablet. It was also listed by the official website of Dell. But the product is now dropped from the list indicting that Dell dropped the idea of launching this tablet.
Dell is hosting an event on Oct 2 in New York. The company is going to announce its new tablets there. The Windows RT 8.1 is unlikely to be launched at the event but Venue 8 will be unveiled. Dell spokes person said that their complete range of tablet portfolio in the coming years.
Lenovo offers Window RT tablets and Dell is another company. Microsoft recently announced Windows RT tablet Surface 2. This is the first tablet to run on Windows 8.1 RT. It is also rumored that Dell may launch the successor of XPS 10 with Window RT 8.1 but the chances of this are very less.
Dell XPS 10 tablet users may get operating system upgrade to Windows 8.2 RT. XPS runs on Snapdragon Qualcomm processor.
