Google to Release Online Music Streaming Service?: Google Targets to Put a Check to Apple & Spotify?

Georgia: Google is reportedly working on launching an online music streaming service in the latter parts of 2013. With this service, Google expects to take on Apple and Spotify if the rumors are to be believed. This movie is also considered as pre emptive strike on its rival, Apple. Apple is also rumored to be working on online music streaming service. Since few months, Google is reportedly negotiating with the people in this regard and this service is reported to be released in third or fourth quarter of this year, 2013.

According to Bloomberg, Google’s negotiations are on under way with top players in recording field and Google wants to get the licenses for the music of these record labels. This site also claims that Google which already owns YouTube website is also in plans to renew the deal which cover the usage of songs in videos created by consumers. This service might expand on present cloud based music service of Google which got released in 2011 to compete with iTune of Apple directly. iTunes command more than sixty percent of digital sales of music. In the year 2012, this service got expanded to many countries like Germany, UK and many other European markets. Presently, iPad version of this app is in need to access files which got released in UK. This app enables the users to download or play the music stored in Cloud Player directly to their iPad device. It also enables the users to play the music which is already stored in their devices and to create or manage playlists.

According to Steve Boom who is serving as Vice President at Digital Music for Amazon told that they have introduced Cloud Player app for iPod Touch and iPhone in summer 2012 and it is getting good response from customers and that they are planning to expand this service to iPad also.
