Garden of Five Senses is a park located at Said-UL-Azaib Village in Delhi, India. Delhi Tourism Transportation Development Corporation developed this park. This park is attracting the tourists since 2003.

 

What to see at Garden of Five Senses: Major attractions of this place is Khas Bagh. This park is divided into several areas. Khas Bagh is designed on the basis of Mughal Garden. Water cascades in the channels, fragrant shrubs, different variety of flowers and trees line the path to Khas Bagh. Fountains are another attraction of this place. Pool of water lilies covered with climbing plants of different textures and colours can be seen at Neel Bagh place of this park.

 

Species of bamboo, herbs or cacti, are planted here. It is not only a park several activities conducts here. Plenty of colourful gardens with different colours of flowers. Seeing these flowers at one place is an amazing experience. Around 200 varieties of flowers can be seen here. Trees like thorny ber bush and local kikar is other attractions of this garden. Largest collection of public art of India can be seen here. More than 25 different sculptures and murals are situated here. Here visitors experience the first city including dome shaped office complex and stones used in the construction of the boundary walls.

 

Attractions and beauty of the park make the visitors give the chance to hear, smell, touch, sight and taste the natural surroundings. Other attractions of this place are 200 variety of plants and flowers, courts of specimen plants, colour gardens, expansive plaza, amphitheatre, Exhibition area, Art Destination, Solar Energy Park. There is an amusement section where toy solar cars are the attraction.

Humayun Tomb: After the death of Humanyun his wife Hamida Begum commissioned the construction of his tomb. It was constructed between 1562 to 1572. It is located 14Kms away from this garden.

India Gate: It was constructed by Edwin Lutyens in the memory of the soldiers who lost their lives in First World War. It is located 13Kms away from this garden.

Qutub Minar: It is the tallest minar in India. Brahmi inscriptions can be seen on the iron pillars. Marble and red sand stone was used in the construction of this minar. Several ancient structures can be seen around the minar. It is the Qutub complex. It is located 3Kms away from this garden.

Jantar Mantar: This was constructed by Sawai Jai Singh II between 1699 to 1743. This look like gallery of modern art on the first seeing but it is just an observatory. It is located 15Kms away from this garden.

Rashtrapati Bhawan: Earlier this was used as Viceregal Lodge. In this palace there are 340 rooms. Expenditure for the construction of this palace is 12, 53,000 pound sterling’s. It is located 8Kms away from the fort. It is located 13Kms away from this garden.
