80 directors of Satyam Computers sentenced to 1year Jail

09.01.2014: In the income tax evasion case, 80 directors belong to 19 firms of Satyam Computers limited sentenced to one year imprisonment. 4 women directors sentenced to 6 months imprisonment. Directors include Ramlinga Raju, founder of the company, his wife, son and brothers wife. Bail granted to all the directors.

09.01.2014: Wreckage of an aircraft has been found in Manipur at Konu Hil in Senapati district. This was found by residents of an interior village of Manipur. It is believed that this belongs to Second World War. This wreckage had 14 pistols and its weight is 300kgs.

Guidelines to regulate TV rating agencies

09.01.2014: With the intension to regulate TV rating agencies in India guidelines were set. These guidelines were approved by the cabinet. Main guidelines are Agencies will not be allowed to ensure that they capture data across multiple platforms that includes Terresial TV’s, Direct to Home and Cable TV, rating agencies need to registrar will now need to register with the ministry subject to eligibility conditions including cross holding norms.
