FIR against Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav: Governor Resigns
25.2.2015: Madhya Pradesh governor Ram Naresh Yadav resigned to his post after a special task force named him in an FIR in Madhya Professional Examination Board scam. He is the first sitting governor to be named in FIR in a corruption case. His son was also arrested few days ago. The ex-governor is accused of manipulating selection processor of jobs. 539 people are arrested in the Vyapam scam and 218 are yet to be arrested.
TRAI Announced Mobile Number Portability from May 3
25.2.2015: TRAI announced full mobile portability across India. Till now the portability was limited to a telecom circle under which customers can change to any service provider with in the circle and could continue his old mobile number. But with the amendment made to the 2009 regulation by TRAI, mobile subscribers can port their number from any telecom circle anywhere in India. This will come into effect from May 3rd of this month.
Mahindra Agri Business Entering Dairy Segment
25.2.2015: Mahindra Agri Business, a part of Mahindra and Mahindra is going to enter dairy segment and wants to acquire a popular dairy brands. According to Mahindra Agri business sources, they may invest between Rs. 150 to Rs. 750 crores. Dairy sector in India is one of the world’s top consumers and producer of milk.
Telangana Government Recruiting 550 Home Guards
25.2.2015: Telangana government approved recruitment of 550 home guards in Telangana State Police. Recently the government gave permission for recruitment of 3620 diver constables. From next financial year, the salary of home guards is going to increase to Rs. 12,000 and large number of candidates is expected to apply for these posts.
Andhra Pradesh EAMCET 2015 on May 10
24.2.2015: Engineering and medical entrance test EAMCET 2015 is going to be held on May 10 in Andhra Pradesh. JNTU, Kakinada will conduct the test. State higher education council will issued the EAMCET schedule in a few days, revealed Andhra Pradesh education minister. EAMCET will be held both in offline and online modes. Online exam also is scheduled for May 10. The details of online slots will be revealed in EAMCET notification.
Ten Indo-Americans elected for US National Academy of Engineering
25.2.2015: Ten Indo-Americans are elected for prestigious National Engineering Academy in US. There are 67 members in the academy and 12 foreigners are elected. This selection is based on their talent in science and technology. Computer science professor Hari Balakrishnan, Electrical Engineering professor Ananta Chandrakasaan, Sangeetha Bhatia, Chief Technical officer M Diwan Guha, Sameer Mitra Gotri, Santosh K Das, Guru Swamy Ravichandran, Ajit P Yoganathan and Junutula N Reddy are the Indo-Americans selected for US National Academy of Engineering.
