13.2.2015: Micromax appointed Asish Agrawal as the new Chief Technology Officer. He was the CTO for mobile and cloud services player Sirqui before he was appointed by Micromax Informatics. He has an experience of over 16 years in mobile, payments and e-commerce filed.

Gurpreet Singh Wins $500,000 National Science Foundation Career Award, US

13.2.2015: Indian origin scientist Gurpreet Singh won National Science Foundation career award for his research on Scalable liquid exfoliation processing of ultrathin two dimensional metal dichalcogenides naonosheets for energy storage devices. This award is given by US National Science Foundation.

Savlon, Shower to Shower Brands Acquired by ITC

13.2.2015: FMGC giant ICT announced that they made an agreement to purchase Savlon and Shower to Shower brands. This is the first time that ITC purchased personal hygiene brands. As per the agreement, Savlon and Shower to Shower will be sold by ITC in India only. ITC also said that the permissions to complete this procedure are awaited.

Apple App Store Earned $ 14.3 Billion in 2014

13.2.2015: Apple earned $ 14.3 billion in 2014. This is more than the Hollywood America box office collection. Apple released iPhone 6, 6 Plus smartphones in 2014 which were very successful. The company also created record with apps developed o iOS platform in 2014. Apple paid $ 10 billion for iPad app developers. Total number of apps available at Apple stores is 14 lakhs.

Mercedes Benz to Launch 15 New Models in India in 2015

13.2.2014: Luxury cars manufacturing company Mercedes Benz announced that it is going to release 15 new models in Indian market in 2015. One of them is the most expensive AMGGT sports car which is likely to be priced around Rs. 2 crores. Bullet proof car S 600 Guard is also likely to be launched this year. The company is currently selling 20 models in India and 5 of them are manufactured in India.

Pakistan will not Accept India as Permanent Member of Security Council, Nawaz Sharif

14.2.2015: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made it clear to America president Barrack Obama that they will not accept India as UNSC permanent member if India does not come forward to solve the Kashmir issue. Pakistan official sources revealed that they both had a talk over phone on bilateral issues and regional peace. On this occasion, Nawab Sharif expressed his objection over America’s support to India’s proposal for permanent seat in Security Council.
