Banking is one of the fastest growing sectors in India. Banking sector is concentrating on offering latest technology such as ATMs, net banking and so on to the people and on the other side it is concentrating on expansion of banking services to rural India with Jan Dhan Yojan announced by central government of India, banking sector is going to reach more number of people.

Mumbai: As the customers increase, banks have to recruit more staff. For example State Bank of India released notification for 1837 probationary officer post four to five months ago. On the day written exam results were announced, another recruitment notification was issued for 2986 PO posts in SBI associated banks. There are vacancies in SBI and its 5 associate banks.

Getting a job in SBI and associated jobs as PO helps the candidates earn up to Rs. 65,000 salary if posting is given in cities such as Mumbai. Candidates for this post are selected based on a written test, group discussion and an interview.

SBI issued notification for 2986 probationary officer posts in SBI and its associated banks. Candidates who completed or going to complete graduation by September 1, 2014 from a recognized university can apply for these vacancies. This eligibility rule is applicable to students who are pursuing their integrated dual degree. They should be aged between 21 and 30 years. Rs. 100 is the exam fee for SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates. These are only intimation charges. General and other category applicants have to pay Rs. 500. Last date for applying online is September 18 and the last date for paying fee in offline mode is September 20.

SBI Pos written exam is going to be conducted in the month of November though specific date is not announced yet. Applicants can obtain updates from www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in. Written test will be for 250 marks. There are 200 marks for objective questions and 50 for descriptive exam. Objective test duration is two hours. The test will contain test of English language, test of general awareness, marketing and computer, test of data analysis and interpretation and test of reasoning sections. The descriptive papers of those who get minimum qualifying marks in objective test paper will be evaluated. Second phase of selection is group discussion and interview. Twenty marks are allotted for group discussion and 30 for interview. Final list of selected candidates will be prepared based on the marks secured in written exam, group discussion and interview.
