Anushka: Historical Rudrama Devi
Anushka completed her mega movie Rudrama Devi which will take the audience back to history.
Warangal: Anushka Shetty the south beauty has just completed shooting for her mega budget movie Rudramadevi. The film is produced and directed by famous Tollywood director Gunasekhar. His name is associated for re-creating historical places in movies like Okkadu (recreated world famous construction charminar), Arjun (Meenakshi temple in Madurai).
Now the director is recreating the Kakatiya dynasty in his new 3D movie based on the 13th century kings who had their kingdom with Warangal as capital. The movie created record for its high budget of more than Rs. 80 crores and the movie is also reported to have simultaneous release in Telugu & Tamil. This is part of Anushka’s strategy to improve her market with bi-lingual movies.
The past track of Anushka in her earlier movie Arundhati paved her way to the role in the movie. The shades of both Rudramadevi & Arundhati are having more similarities. Along with Rudramadevi, Anushka is also acting in similar role in Rajamouli’s mega budget movie Bahubali with Prabhas & Tamanna which is presently under production stage.
‘Rudramadevi’ movie is having association of many famous names of Tollywood. It has rebel star Krishnam Raju as Ganapati Devudu (father of Rudrama), stylish star Allu Arjun as Gona Ganna Reddy (guest role), Prakash Raj as Shiva Devaiah who is the minister of court and royal adviser to the queen, Jayaprakash Reddy as Ambadevudu who rebelled against the Kakatiya dynasty. The movie cast also consists of names like Rana Daggubati, Suman, prabha.
The comedy track of the movie is consisting of artistes like Brahmanandam, MS Narayana, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Brahmaji, Tanikella Bharavni, Krishna Bhagavaa, LB Sriram, Venu Madhav etc. The popular singer Baba Sehgal also portrayed a small role in the movie with some negative shades. Maestro Ilayaraju composed music for the movie. Starting its shooting in February 2013, the movie completed the production after 18 months and after completing the post production formalities, the movie is scheduled to release in December this year.
