On Windows phones, he hinted that Microsoft has plans to bring down the selling price to less than $200.Tablets which were costing three to five hundred dollars an year back will be now brought to the range of one to three hundred dollars.

In a market that is predominantly dominated by Apple iPad and Android devices, also Samsung Galaxy’s, Microsoft now wants to capture the market share by offering its Windows for free. Like Google that offered its Android Operating System for free for the tablets, now Microsoft plans to offer to all the devices that have the screen size up to 9 inches.

Microsoft, with its Surface Pro 2 tablet costing at $899 definitely edges itself out with its competitors who have to offer their models at very competitive price.

There’s the Google’s Nexus 7 that costs around two hundred dollars, Amazon Kindle Fire 7 that comes at a lowest price of $119. And with its own tablet costing around 900 dollars, Microsoft definitely needs to show something bargaining. As such, it plans to supply its other advanced versions of Windows 8 and 8.1 to those devices. Though the Surface Pro 2 costs so much, it has arguments to support and justify its price. The 10.8 inch screen device comes with Haswell processor. Has front and rear camera. The keyboard has backlight support. Software in it is updated with Windows 8.1.

Also the battery life has been revived and all the accessories it uses. Having done all this, it still has to rethink on its pricing. There’s the iPad that is dominating and Microsoft has to rethink in its pricing strategy as it is gearing up to release its next version the Surface Pro 3 which it says will replace laptops and the base price of it is fixed at $799.
