Congress’ Introspection: Is It Real
The worse ever defeat presented to the congress by the people of India, is making the congress leadership to do the introspection. But is the introspection real – is the question.
New Delhi: The 125 years long standing party of the country is today on the ventilator. The party had to contend with just 44 MP seats. The largest contributor of this figure of 44 is Karnataka with 9 MP seats immediately followed by Kerala with 8 seats.
The party could not get double digit figure from any of the states. It has not able to open its account in states like Andhra Pradesh.
The extra constitutional powers enjoyed by the UPA chairperson Sonia (reducing the significance of PM) is one of the strongest reasons for the present defeat. Manmohan with his strength of economics has not been able to do any good for the country. The super power UPA has been able to invent newer methods of conducting scams. The UPA regime has the highest number of scams to its credit involving crores of rupees of public money.
All the scam money (converted to black money) is hidden in foreign countries in benami names. Probably it is for this reason that the UPA government could not provide the required information to the Supreme Court regarding the black money.
The UPA headed by congress has not been able to find out the anger that the Indian voters are having against the government’s policies which are against the interests of the common man. The government did absolutely nothing for the good of the people. The various genuine demands of the people have been ignored (like Aadhaar).
The ICU position (inflation, corruption & unemployment) created by the UPA made the people of India to vote against congress and UPA en-mass. Their angry is clear on the congress as well as the partners in UPA. UPA partners have also not been able to get respectable strength in the elections. J&K’s national conference has ZERO strength in terms of MPs whereas the other partners like NCP in Maharasthra had to conclude the elections with lesser MPs compared to earlier Lok Sabha.
The independent regional players like Naveen Patnaik (Orissa), Mamata Banerjee (West Bengal), Jayalalithaa (Tamil Nadu) proved that they are better than congress that ruled the country for the past 10 years in series.
Now it is for the congress party to do real introspection on the mistakes by the party and also the UPA government where congress it the major partner and head (in the form of Sonia). As per the reports, the introspection meetings at congress headquarters are conducted as a formality and with much of drama.
The state units are also following the same rule as that of congress high command at Delhi. The high command is not able to influence the state units as the position of the high command is also not strong as earlier.
