The Bavarian car making giant BMW has already announced about the Indian launch of the MINI hatch back. It has been a long time since Indian buyers are waiting to put their hands on MINI and the upcoming 2014 MINI is likely to get introduced in the Indian market by the end of this year. The 2014 MINI is bigger in size when compared with the former edition models of the MINI series and Indian edition of the hatch back may be much bigger in size.

The signature styling of the MINI series has been continued with the 2014 MINI also and the model is very feasible for customization basically. The manufacturer offers a wide range of interior and exterior accessories and components that can change the look of the vehicle. Buyers can get these accessories on demand and thus MINI is highly customizable. However, the front fascia of the model looks very similar to the traditional MINI. The signature hexagonal front grille along with the round shaped head lights are offered with the 2014 MINI. However, the new MINI is around 98 mm longer, 44 mm wider and 7 mm taller than the former edition.

BMW has launched the 2014 Edition MINI hatch back for the first time in the month of November last year at Oxford and it is already available for sale in the global markets. 2014 MINI is a front wheel drive vehicle and it has been built basing on the UKL plat form of the manufacturer. The additional wheel base of 28 mm relatively than the former edition makes the new MINI very spacious and comfortable. The official debut of the model into the Indian market would take place after the launch of BMW’s 7 Series Active Hybrid car.

In India, BMW is expected to offer MINI hatch back in Cooper and Cooper S variants only. The former gets fitted with a 1.5 litre engine that is capable of generating around 134 bhp at the peak whereas the Cooper S will get powered with a 2.0 litre engine that produces around 189 bhp at the peak. Both these variants would be accompanied with a 6 speed automatic transmission gear box. As per the information, BMW would import the 2014 MINI into the Indina market as Completely Built Units mostly which will increase the import duties and taxes. The price of the 2014 MINI hatch back in India is likely to be around Rs. 35 lakhs only.
