BTech, BPharma Admission Counseling Began at GITAM University: Counseling till June 16

Counseling for admission into Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture courses for the year 2014-15 began at Gitam University Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Visakhapatnam campuses. The counseling procedure began in Visakhapatnam campus yesterday.

Visakhapatnam: Counseling the engineering admissions into Gitam university will be held in five centers set up in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka state. Director, Admission of Gitam University informed that counseling centers are setup in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Hyderabad and Bangalore for the convenience of the students.

Counseling for candidates who ware ranked between one thousand to five thousand completed yesterday and for those who are ranked between 5001 to 9000 can attend counseling on June 12. Counseling will be held for rankers between 9001 to 13000 on June 13. Counseling schedule for 13,001 rank to 17,000 ranks is on June 14 and from 17,001 to 22,000 on June 15. Counseling will be held for students who are placed between 22,001 and 30,000 ranks on June 16. It is also informed that MTech counseling will be on June 18 and MPharmacy counseling will also be held on the same date.

The admit cards for selected candidates were handed over on the first day of counseling that is on June 11 by vice chancellor G. Subrahmanyam. Most popular branches chosen by the students are IT, CSE, ECE and mechanical courses. Gitam university conducts a special admission test to admit students into BTech courses at its various campuses. Admissions are based on the rank secured by the students in the entrance test.

Vacancy position of seats in all the nine branches at the Gitam campuses were displayed on the screens at all the counseling centers. The university offers four year BTech degree in electronics and communication engineering, electronic and instrumentation engineering, industrial engineering, civil engineering, information technology, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science and engineering. It also offers biotechnology course at Visakhapatnam campus and aeronautical engineering in Hyderabad campus.

Other courses offered are 5 year bachelor of architecture courses, 4 year BPharmacy course and Visakhapatnam, 5 year dual degree courses in ECE and mechanical at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bangalore campuses. The admission test was conducted from April 17 to May 8 and the results were announced on May 15.
