Sony has just launched the Xperia Z2 in the country for Rs 49,990 and it will have to battle it out against the iPhone 5S which is retailing for around Rs 48,000

New Delhi:Sony and Apple have recently introduced their latest smartphone devices in the Indian market: Sony Xperia Z2 and Apple iPhone 5S, respectively. It is time to draw comparisons between the two and determine which one is really worth your money. So, here is a comparative look at the two smartphones:

Display:Xperia Z2 comes with an IPS LCD multi touch display of 5.2 inches, 1080 x 1920 pixels display resolution and 424 ppi pixel density. While iPhone 5S features a LED backlit IPS LCD multi touch display of 4 inches, 1136 x 640 pixels display resolution and 326 ppi pixel density.

Processor:Xperia Z2 has been loaded with Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AB chipset and Krait 400 quad core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz. While iPhone 5S has been equipped with Apple A7 chipset and Cyclone dual core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz.

Operating System:Xperia Z2 work on the latest Android platform, i.e. Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS while iPhone 5S works on iOS 7 and can be upgraded to iOS 7.1.1.

Memory:Xperia Z2 offers 3 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory and up to 128 GB expandable memory. On the other hand, the iPhone 5S comes with 1 GB RAM and internal memory of 16/ 32/ 64 GB. It does not support external memory feature.

Camera:Xperia Z2 has been equipped with a rear camera of 20.7 MP with LED flash and a front facing camera of 2.2 MP. On the other hand, iPhone 5S comes with a rear camera of 8 MP with dual LED flash and a front facing camera of 1.2 MP.

Connectivity Features:Both the smartphones feature Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, USB, 2G, 3G and LTE. Xperia Z2 also offers NFC and mobile hotspot.

Battery:Xperia Z2 works on a battery of 3200 mAh while iPhone 5S works on a battery of 1560 mAh.

Our Take:After considering the specifications and features of the two devices, our verdict is in favor of Sony Xperia Z2. It costs the same and has a lot of freebies on offer which puts forth a case in its favour.
