Official: Samsung Launches New Galaxy Tab4 Series

No. It’s not a prank. It’s true and a real deal. Samsung Galaxy Tab4 series is officially launched. The tablets were expected to arrive sometime later in April, but Samsung took everybody by surprise on April 1 and introduced the three new models.

Beijing: Samsung has officially unveiled its new line-up of Galaxy Tab 4 tablets, which were appeared in press render images a few days ago. The tablets were expected to arrive sometime later in April, but Samsung took everybody by surprise on April 1 and introduced the three new models – 10.2m 8.0 and 7.0 inch display.

The Galaxy Tab4 10.1 comes with 10.1-inch WXGA display (1280 x 800 pixels) and draws power from an unnamed 1.2 GHz quad-core processor fitted with 1.5GB of RAM and backed up by 16GB of internal storage (which we believe to be Qualcomm Snapdragon). Samsung has added Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and an USB 2.0 port.

In the photography department, there are two cameras (3MP on the back and 1.3MP in front), while the default operating system is Android 4.4 KitKat. A pretty hefty 6800 mAh battery is keeping everything alive on the slate, so users should be use it as much as necessary.

Moving on to the middle one, the Galaxy Tab4 8.0, the slate obviously comes with an 8.0-inch display, but the resolution and most of the specifications are similar with the larger model. The battery is slightly smaller, 4,450 mAh but that’s to be understood since the screen size isn’t all that big.

Last but not least, is the Galaxy Tab4 7.0 which boasts the smallest screen size in the line-up. Everything remains the same too, except Samsung offers a choice in the internal storage department of either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage.

All the three slates come with a “fun and shareable services allowing users to access content and stay connected with friends,” including Group Play and app that enables users to share music and video with friends in real time.

Samsung doesn’t mention anything relating to price, but let us hope that the tablets will arrive with friendly price-tags. All the models will be offered in black and white and will start shipping globally in Q2 2014.
