Vijayawada: NTR Health University post graduate medical entrance examination will be held on 27th of this month. This was informed by vice chancellor T Ravi Raju and he informed that this will be held as ‘Dr NTUHS PGMET 2014’.

T Ravi Raju spoke to the media and explained about the entrance exam. Qualified candidates who could not appear for the recently held and cancelled PG entrance exam for various reasons can apply now. These candidates have to apply for the test between 9th and 11th April. The test will be held on April 27 from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. The test will be held in 24 exam centers.

Candidates who appeared for NTR Health University PG medical entrance exam in March need not apply again. Their hall tickets with new numbers will be made available online. These can be downloaded from the website from April 21. The site is http://www.drnturhs.org.

Notification for the fresh PG entrance exam is already released and the results will be announced in one week to ten days from the date of examination which is April 27. Objections will be accepted till two to three weeks and the first phase of counseling will be held in the first week of June.

According to Medical Counsel of India guidelines, post graduate medical classes have to begin from June 30 and NTR University is trying to do the same. The details of the exam will be made available in the website from today.

Meanwhile many medical students requested that the post graduate medical examination is conducted even before April 27. They are arguing that if the entrance exam is conducted in the end of April, the students who got good ranks in other entrance exams such as Manipal and GIPMER will face problems. Classes at Manipal medical college begin on May 2. If the students cancel the seat before April 21, they can get full three years fee back but if they cancel the stat after May 30 they have to pay Rs. 36 lakh to the university. Thus they requested the vice chancellor to conduct the post graduate medical entrance exam before April 21.
