Sri Lanka made superb victory over South Africa

Chittagong: Sri Lanka with superb form has made good start in the T-20 World cup. Openers Kusal Perera with 61 runs in 40 balls (6 fours & 3 sixes) and Mathews with 43 runs in 32 balls (3 fours and 1 six) have dominated the show. Match went interestingly till the end and finally Sri Lanka is able to win by 5 runs.

Sri Lanka made 165 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. South Africa although shined well initially, but could not chase the target. Dumini with 39 runs, Decock with 25 runs and Divellers with 24 runs helped but SA has to lose by 5 runs. Sri Lankan bowlers have bowled well in the last overs and could stop SA at 160 runs only. Kusal got Man of the Match award.

New Zealand recorded thrilling victory in Duckworth Lewis method

Chittagong: New Zealand made opening victory against England in Duckworth Lewis method. England made 172 runs for 5 wickets in the first innings. Score seems to be good target. New Zealand made 52 runs for 1 wicket in 5.2 overs. Then Rain stopped the play. According to the Duckworth Lewis method, New Zealand should make only 44 runs by that time to win the match. Hence New Zealand claimed easy and lucky victory. Poor England has to lose the match.

In the first innings, England showed united performance in making good score. Lumb with 33, Ali with 36, Butler with 32 and Bopara with 24 runs helped the team in making good target. New Zealand bowler Anderson made good figures of 2 for 32 runs in 4 overs. Williams with 24 runs and Brenden with 16 runs not out have played key role unknowingly in winning by Duckworth Lewis method.
