Micromax Laptab Dual Boot Tablet Coming to Stores in February: Micromax to Compete with Nokia

Micromax unveiled Laptab, the dual boot tablet at CES 2013 and the device is likely to be released in Indian markets in February. Laptab is the first dual boot tablet from Micromax and will come loaded with Windows and Android operating systems. This is one of the first Micromax devices that will feature Windows operating system.

Mumbai: It was reported a few days ago that Micromax is coming up with a dual boot laptab. Now it is informed that the lapTab is going to be priced under Rs. 30,000. It is going to be launched in Indian market in February this year.

Micromax Laptab will feature both Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system and Windows 8 operating system. This was announced at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. Micromax Co-founder Rahul Sharma said that it will be priced below $500 and they are expecting a sale of 100,000 units in the first six months of releasing it in the Indian market. Micromax Laptab is going to come with both Android and Windows operating systems and promises multitasking on both the platforms. The tablet will sports 10.1 inch display and the type of display is IPS. It is going to be powered by 1.46 GHz Intel cerelon processor. The processor is going to be complemented by 2 GB RAM. It will come loaded with 32 GB internal storage and will come with 634 GB expandable memory via micro SD. There will be a 2 megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity features of the device include Bluetooth and WiFi. It comes packed with 7400 mAh battery under the hood.

Laptab is the first Intel powered dual boot device from Micromax that comes with Windows as well as Android operating system. Users can switch to one operating system to other by rebooting the device. Micromax is looking for global expansion and is more keen to make its products affordable for users. There is nothing new in the specifications but the dual operating system is definitely a big highpoint. This is not the first tablet that is to be released with dual operating system at CES 2014.

Asus introduced Transformer Book Duet TD300 which was offered with Android 4.1 operating system and Windows 8. This is a 13 inch device with Intel quad core processor and 128 GB internal storage. It is also rumoured that Micromax is going to launch devices with Windows operating system to compete with one of the top selling brands in India, Nokia mobiles. The Laptab is first of all these devices.
