Team India gave a Diwali gift to the fans by winning the seven one day series against Australia. Team India set a target of 384 runs for Australia. Australia could make only 326 runs. Rohit Sharma scored a double century and became the third batsman to score more than 200 runs in one day international matches.

Bangalore: Team India won the seventh ODI in the India-Australia series by 57 runs. They also won the ODI series 3-2. Australia failed to chase the big target of 384 runs set by India. The team lost all its wickets for 326 runs. Falkner and Maxwell put up a brave fight but could not win the match. Indian bowlers Sami and Jadeja claimed 3 wickets each. Ashwin took one wicket and Vinay kumar claimed one. Rohit Sharma who scored 209 runs is declared the man of the match and he also won the man of the series award.

Rohit Sharma proved again that he is the future of Indian cricket. Apart from scoring a double century, he created many records. He created history by joining the team of batsman who scored centuries in one day matches. He now has the record of most sixes in one day matches by hitting sixteen sixes. His 209 runs included sixteen sixes and 12 fours. He played 158 balls.

Earlier India loss the toss and was asked to bat first. The team lost its first wicket at 18.6 overs. Dhawan scored 60 runs and Kohli was duck out. In the 30th over Raina returned to pavilion after scoring only 28 runs. Yuvraj scored 12 runs. Dhoni scored 62 runs and was run out in the last over of the innings.

Rohit Sharma’s double century is another record for India in the international one day matches. this is the third double century form India. Sachin scored a double century and remained not out in 2010 against South Africa in Gwalior. In 2011, Virendra Sehwag scored double century against West Indies in Indore. His 219 runs is also the highest individual score in one day international matches. With his 209 runs score, Rohit Sharma became the batsman who score highest runs against Australia.
