Ford revealed ‘Edge’ Concept UV at LA Motor Show – Production variant by 2017, Renault Duster Chevy Captiva in trouble??

Ford has revealed the brand new Edge SUV concept at the ongoing Los Angeles Auto Show and the fresh look of the model has grabbed the attention of almost everybody who attended the show. Ford is showcasing all the technical upgrades that have been added to the manufacturer’s portfolio and Ford described the new Edge as one of the most rich SUVs in the world technically.

The current gen Edge is being offered with several engine options and the next gen edition may or may not carry these engine choices. We may expect the 2.0 litre Eco Boost engine to get carried over to the upcoming edition and some more engine options may get added to the existing. But the manufacturer has not revealed anything about the engine and thus nothing is official and confirmed so far. The European market has already received the Ford Kuga in the Utility vehicle segment but many buyers have felt that Kuga is smaller comparatively.

The new Edge from Ford has been specially designed for the European buyers and it is much bigger than Kuga as well as some other models in the UV segment too. There are a wide number of technical upgrades we can find in the new Edge which are going to be introduced for the first time ever in the Utility Vehicle segment of the European market. The model has been received very well at the LA motor Show and it can be listed among the top five models that have stolen the show this year.

With the aggressive design, we can expect how aggressive the performance of the model is going to be. The most significant feature of the model which has almost amazed everybody at the show is the ‘Fully Assisted Remote Control Parking Aid’. With the help of this unique and new feature, the driver can park the vehicle slowly by using the Remote Control alone. Ford may unveil the model in both petrol as well as in diesel versions and the engine may get powered with manual transmission gear boxes most probably. The production variant of the new Ford Edge is expected to arrive in the year 2017.
