The Lunchbox Review - A Taste Totally Different

This movie is a tribute to the Dabbawala” system of Mumbai who are known throughout the world for their prompt service. This is a love story which evolves when the dabba fetches the wrong table. Then letters exchange and gradually both fell in love. But there is not only love it teaches us about the basic elements that constitute “LIFE”.

Mumbai: One of the best movies of the decade which are made with a soulful heart. An exemplary love story which briefly describes ambitions, hopes, sorrows and living.

Thespian, Irrfan Khan has yet again given a National Award Winning performance by living the role of an estranged husband. Nawazzudin Siddique who has both sides -happiness and loneliness has also demanded attention in every sense.

Nimrat Kaur has done exceedingly well as a neglected house-wife who has to search for her happiness in her daughter and some old beloved stuffs because her husband is having an affair with an other lady and she couldn’t do anything because she totally depends upon him. It reflects the bitterness of life. But all praise is for Ritesh Batra who has shown his tremendous potential in the art of making films from his very first movie and proved that simplicity can do wonders. It is not necessary that for a film to be a bollywood success requires stupid comedy, senseless action and over-powering dialogues. But, despite all this goodness I would like to make a point that this movie is not for those who are not used to slow motion pictures.

The thing which might live you awestruck is it’s climax which demands a viewer’s understanding and patience because it’s not that simple to understand what life is !! All in all, Ritesh Batra has served us “THE LUNCHBOX” which is full of simplicity, never ending love, emotions and indeed happiness. You must grab a bite of it !!
