We very often encounter with the news about test mules being spotted prior to the official debut and it makes perfect sense to buzz about unrevealed models. But we cannot even imagine an already unveiled model being tested with heavy camouflage on tracks just like that of an unrevealed model. The weird thing has happened on the circuit of surprises, the Nurburgring circuit of Germany.

The global luxury sports car making giant Ferrari has already introduced the new LaFerrari hyper car at this year’s Geneva Motor Show that was held few months earlier. But to the surprise of all, a test mule of the same model wearing heavy amount of camouflage has been spotted on the Nurburgring circuit. A video was also revealed over web recently which shown two units of the new LaFerrari racing with each other. The respective two units were fully covered with camouflage but not as heavy as that in the current spy images.

The new LaFerrari 2013 comes equipped with a 6.3 liter V12 engine that is capable of generating around 789 horsepower at the peak. A pair of electric motors that can produce some more amount of power will accompany the main engine and the combined power output of the vehicle will be around 951 horsepower and the torque will be 664 lb – ft at the peak. Power gets transmitted to the rear wheels through a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission gear box. As per the information, the new LaFerrari is capable of attaining speed of 100 kmph from rest within just 3 seconds only.

It is informed that the new LaFerrari is capable of beating down some of the quickest models of Ferrari in sprint. The lap time of the model on Nurburgring circuit was a 1:20 minute which is around 3 seconds quicker than the F12 Berlinetta model and around 5 seconds quicker than that of Ferrari Enzo. Still, nobody is able to judge the need of testing a model after unveiling it in the global market officially.
