State Bank of India Recruitment Drive: SBI to Recruit 10,000 in 2013-14

Largest state owned bank in India, SBI is going to recruit 10,000 employees this fiscal year including 1500 Pos.

Mumbai: State Bank of India is going to recruit ten thousand employees in 2013. SBI chairman Pratip Chaudhuri informed that State Bank of India will be recruiting ten thousand employees including 1500 probationary officers this year. The process already began in April, 2013. Nearly 7,500 SBI employees are retiring this year.

SBI New Branches

SBI chairman also informed that all the branches of SBI are being upgraded. All of them are now air-conditioned. There is sufficient staff in every branch. In the last quarter SBI recruited 20,000 assistants. He also added that another 1200 branches will be opened in India in various places in the year 2013-14. Eight new branches will also be opened abroad including in China and Britain. In the previous fiscal year, government sector banks recruited a total of 63,000 staff. Among these 20,000 clerks and 1200 officers were recruited by SBI. There were around 84,489 vacancies in various state owned banks. Most of these banks have begun recruitment drives.

New Recruitments

SBI is the largest bank in India. The bank is all set to announce a nearly 10000 recruitments in coming few days, according to SBI chairman. This is a good news for candidates who are seeking a bank job. Till June, 2012 SBI has 80,329 officers and 95,018 clerks in its pay rolls. The new branches that are expected to be opened in metro and urban areas will have the newly recruited staff. As there is a need for clericals in many branches, majority of new recruitments were announced for clerical cadre. State bank has 16,000 branches in India including the branches of its 5 associates.

SBI recently conducted a test for recruiting probationary officers which were written by 14 lakh candidates. The results were also announced a week ago. In recent times, most of the MBA graduates preferred to work in private banks. Slowly they are now shifting to govt banks.
