LG’s Press Event at MWC 2013: LG Sends out Invitations
Barcelona: Mobile World Congress 2013 is round the corner and LG sent invitations for a press conference that is scheduled on February 25 at 8.00 am local time. There are speculations about what the company will be unveiling at Mobile Congress World 2013 at Barcelona. The invitations sent out by LG had number ‘4’ on it indicating that it might release 4 devices. The number 4 is followed by ‘more from LG’. In a teaser earlier, LG indicated that ‘a new series of phones would be unveiled at the show’.
LG press release of the company’s financial status for the last quarter of 2012 hinted that the company will reveal new smartphones to increase the revenue and market share. The company also mentioned the names, it might release successor to Optimus G and a new additional to L series. An introduction of F series of phones is also on the cards, according to the report.
Optimus G2 from LG might not make it to the Mobile World Congress. LG introduced L series at Mobile World Congress 2012. This year, the company is expected to launch F series of phones. The smartphones are expected to come with 4G LTE connectivity and will be offered for affordable prices.
At the bottom of the invitation that was sent by LG for the event scheduled for 25th February, 2013 has the line ‘see the difference’. It may be indication from LG that it will be introducing new technology. LG might introduce devices with floating gesture technology, it is speculated.
AT CES 2013, LG said, it will launch various smartphones in 2013. It however has not confirmed whether the smartphones will be released in L series or F series. Optimus G Pro, is a smartphone that is rumored to unveil in 5.5 inch version at the event scheduled on 25th by LG. The image and the specs of the phone were leaked. In appearance the device is not different from Optimus G Pro but a major difference seems to be the 3140 mAh battery. All other specifications of the device are also expected to be similar to 5 inch model. Along with Optimus G Pro, the company might unveil three other models.
LG’s event is at 8 am on 25th February, 2013 at Mobile World Congress and Nokia scheduled its new product launch at 9 am on the same day. Thus new announcements can be expected from two major companies on the first day of Mobile Congress World 2013.
