Indian Yoga Teacher Set Guinness World Record in Hong Kong

15.2.2015: Yogaraj CP is an Indian Yoga teacher and he performed Yoga continuously for 40 hours and demonstrated more than 1500 asanas. He also set a Guinness world record for this feat. He started his Yoga Marathon on Friday and continued it for three days and ended on Sunday.

Tessy Thomas and Geet Varadan Selected for Nayudamma Memorial Award 2014

15.2.2015: Dr. Y Nayudamma Memorial Award 2014 is going to be given to two women scientists Tessy Thomas and Geeta Varadan for their contribution to missile technology and remote sensing. Tessy Thomas is director of DRDO Advanced Systems Laboratory and Geeta Varadan is Director of Advanced Data Processing Research Institute, ISRO.

Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena Visiting India

15.2.2015: Sri Lanka president Mithripala Sirisena is visiting India which is his first foreign tour after assuming office. He will be in India for four days and will meet Indian president Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Modi. As part of his tour, he will visit Buddha Gaya and Tirupati.

Pakistan Releases 171 Fishermen Belonging to India

15.2.2015: 172 fishermen who were held in Pakistan jails in Karachi are released by the Pakistan government as a goodwill gesture. These fishermen were arrested as they violated territorial waters in Arabian Sea, it is said. High level talks are likely to be resumed between the prime ministers of both the countries and Pakistan decided to release the fishermen after this.

India wins over Pakistan in their opening match in World Cup 2015

15.2.2015: India defeated Pakistan in their opening match in world cup tourney. This is the sixth win for India over Pakistan in world cups. Team India defeated Pakistan by 75 runs. Virat Kohli won hit a century was adjudged man of the match. Pakistan could not chase the 300 runs target set by India. They only scored 224 and lost all their wickets. Next match for India is with South Africa scheduled on February 22.
