Kejriwal Takes Oath as Eighth Chief Minister of New Delhi

14.2.2014: Arvind Kejriwal became the eighth chief minister of New Delhi. Another six persons took oath as ministers in his cabinet in Ramleela Ground in New Delhi. Large number of supporters of Aam Aadmi Party came to the ground to witness the swearing-in ceremony. LED screens were set up for people to watch the ceremony.

Tintu Lukka won Gold in 35th National Games

14.2.2015: Tintu Lukka the middle distance runner won gold in 800 m race at 35th National Games. She broke the record of Rosa Kutty that was created 18 years ago. She finished the 500 m race in just 2.01.86 seconds. Previous record in the name of Rosa Kutty was of 2.03.08 seconds.

Sunil Chhetri and Bala Devi Awarded AIFF 2014 Player of the Year Trophy

14.2.2015: Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri and striker Bala Devi are awarded the All India Football Federations Player of the year award for the year 2014. Chhetri received this award for the fourth time.

Apple is working on an Electric Car

14.2.2014: The name apple brings iPhones and iPads into memory and in future in may remind of electric car also. According to sources, Apple is working on an electric car. The company had talks with car manufacturers and automotive producers also. The car is going to be similar to a minivan. If this is true, Apple will give a tough fight to Tesla and General Motors which are already producing electric cars.

Mahindra to Set up a Plant in Tamil Nadu with Rs. 4000 crore Investment

14.2.2015: Auto giant Mahindra and Mahindra is going to set up a huge plant in Tamil Nadu. Upcoming models will be manufactured in this plant. The company will invest Rs. 4000 crores in two phases in the beginning. Test track centre will be set up in first phase and automotive plant in the second phase. Tamil Nadu government will give 255 acres of land for this plant.

RBI Decides to Bring Back One Rupee Note

14.2.2015: Reserve Bank of India announced that one rupee notes are going to be in circulation soon. The denomination presently in circulation will also continue to be legal tender. The currency notes are printed by Government of India.

Brahmos Missile Successfully Test-fired

14.2.2015: Brahmos supersonic missile is successfully test fires from INA Kolkata. This missile can travel with a speed of 343 meters per second which is 1.4 times faster than sound. It can destroy targets in the range of 290 kms. Brahmos missile is in its last phase of development. INA Kolkata joined navy in 2014 and there is facility to fire 16 Brahmos at a time from INS Kolkata.
