Dasari Narayana Rao’s Erra Bussu Tollywood Movie Review

Dasari is definitely one of the big names in Tollywood. His earlier release was Mestri which even fetched him Nandi award as the best actor. His latest release is Erra Bussu in which he appeared in an important role and also directed The movie. Vishnu and Catherine are the actors in lead role. The movie is released without much fan fare.

Vijayawada: Software engineering Vishnu wants to go to America and was told by the company in which he is working that he will be sent there in three months. In the meantime, he brings his grandfather Dasari to city and keeps with him. Dasari is get used to village atmosphere and finds it difficult to adjust in the city.

Differences arise between Vishnu and his lady love Catherine because of his grandfather. His visa is rejected and a situation arises where Vishnu may even lose the job. What happens to the grandfather and what the lovers decide finally is the story.

Dasari directed 150 films till now and his achievements need not be mentioned specially. he also has the credit of getting many awards for his performance. He acted as a village grandfather once again very naturally. Vishnu delivered good performance as a grandson and today’s youth. Heroine Catherine is beautiful but is not expressive. Raghu Babu, Krishnudu and Ravi Prakash performed as required by the characters. Ali’s comedy is good but the comedy of Brahmanandam and MS is not enjoyable.

Erra Bussu is a remake of Tamil movie and was made according to the nativity of Telugu. But the narration is slow unlike present movies. Two songs in the movie are good. Chakri scored music for the film. Rerecording of the film is a big minus. Cinematography is good and editing is ok. Production values are good. There are few unnecessary scenes in the movie and the slow narration is a big minus point. Erra Bussu can be watched by the whole family.

Dasari Narayana Rao’s performance is the best part of the film. the story is old. Real story starts in only second half and the first half is limited to give introduction of the characters. Original Tamil movie showed strong relations between the characters but this lacks in the remake.
