Sonakshi Sinha: Heroine Of Remakes And Sequels

Sonakshi Sinha is incidentally getting most of her movies which are either sequels or remakes from other regional languages.

Mumbai: Sonakshi Sinha started her movie career popularly being known as daughter of Shatrughan Sinha. She had the opportunity to act opposite Salman Khan in Dabaang in her debut movie. The movie went on to become one of the highest grosser and also a blockbuster in the history of Bollywood. The super success of the movie paved way for its sequel in the name of Dabaang2 with the same lead pair as that of Dabaang.

During her career Sonakshi acted in movies which are remakes from regional lanauges. She had Rowdy Rathore with Akshay Kumar (remake of Vikramarkudu starring Raviteja & Anushka with Rajamouli as director).

Her next movie ‘Son of Sardar’ with Ajay Devgan is another remake from Telugu. The original movie ‘Maryada Ramanna’ had Sunil and Saloni with Rajamouli once again as the director.

Sonakshi had her next movie ‘Once Upon A time in Mumbai Doobara’ with action hero Akshay Kumar in the lead role. This movie is a sequel.

After her hit movie R…Rajkumar & average movie Bullet Raja, Sonakshi had another hit movie ‘Holiday – a soldier is never off duty’ once again with action hero Akshay Kumar. Incidentally, this movie is also a remake from Tamil language. The director of Tamil version (Tupakki) AR Murugadoss directed Hindi version as well. The movie also registered positive response at the box office.

The forthcoming movies of Sonakshi include ‘Action jackson’ & ‘Tevar’. Both these movies are once again remakes. While Action Jackson is coming with Ajay Devgan int he lead role under direction of Prabhudeva (which is a remake of Dookudu starring Mahesh Babu), Tevar is remake of Mahesh Babu’s super hit movie Okkadu with Bhoomika Chawla as the heroine. Gunasekhar directed the Telugu movie.

Sonakshi is scheduled to have successive releases in December 2014 & January 2015 wherein her films Action Jackson & Tevar are scheduled to release.

Sonakshi is also playing heroine role in the Rajnikant starrer ‘Lingaa’ a multi lingual movie with famous director KS Ravikumar handling the megaphone.
