Sony PS4 Is Second Fastest Selling Console Ever In the UK

Sony’s Play Station 4, the newest gaming console in the PS series, sold one million pieces in the UK, thus by far being the second fastest selling console. The Play Station 4 reached that number after being on sale for 42 weeks. The Xbox 360 needed 60 weeks to do that and PS2 needed 50. For the record, the first fastest selling gaming console is still the original Wii, which got to the one million mark in just 38 weeks.

It has more graphical power than Xbox One, 32 times more system memory than PS2 and a focus on pure gaming experience. It certainly is the next gen gaming console that the company claims it to be.

The Play Station 4 won the appreciation of many including a horde of youngsters who were rebuffed by Microsoft’s choices and policies for the Xbox One. It comes for Pounds 349 that is the same price as Xbox One bundle without Kinect. The Play Station camera is charged separately for Pounds 45.

The size and weight of PS 4 makes all the difference when compared with Xbox One. The former is designed like a parallelogram, sleeker and lighter than the latter. The PS 4 can be unpacked and set up within minutes. Xbox One instead comes in huge, heavy box and one has to plough through little compartments of cardboard and plastic to get to the main thing.

It is sleek, slim and jet black in colour. The Xbox on the other hand is taller, longer and bulky. Sony’s gaming console comes with built-in power source and there is no need for any external power plug or wires to mess with. Though it lies flat it can be stood up straight on a stand that comes for a little extra. An eight-core x 86-64 AMD “Jaguar” CPU with a 1.84 teraflop GPU based on AMD’s Radeon tech runs the show. This is supported by 8GB of mega-fast GDDR5 RAM and a 500GB mechanical hard drive.

One can play games and watch movies on the PS4 which also allows gamers to connect with friends on Twitter and Facebook regarding the games. There are Play Station apps for iOS and Android.
