‘Entertainment’ Releasing On 8th August 2014-08-08
Akshay Kumar is releasing his Entertainment while the ‘Kick’ is still making news attracting record collections.
Mumbai: Even while Kick is still ringing box office with record collections, Akshay Kumar is releasing his ‘Entertainment’.
The movie expected to be an all out comedy is having besides Akshay Kumar, Tamanna in the female lead role. The film has additional heavy weights like Mithun Chakraborty, Prakash Raj etc in other supporting roles while Ritesh Deshmukh is making a cameo appearance. The various promotional material of ‘Entertainment’ is containing the pictures of the dog (Junior) that is playing a very important role in the movie.
Male lead of Entertainment Akshay Kumar is having super hit in the current year in the form of ‘Soldier’. This movie is a remake of Tamil movie Tupaki directed by AR Murugadoss. The movie collected record collections in its original Tamil version (having Kajol Agarwal in the lead role) and also in its Hindi version. Hindi version with Akshay & Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles got good response at the box office and collected Rs.112 crores against a budget of Rs.40 crores.
The female lead Tamanna tried her luck in Bollywood with her Himmatwala (with Ajay Devgan in the lead role. This movie is a remake of Jeetendra starrer1980’s hit with the same name). The movie received mixed to negative remarks at the box office. Her second attempt Humshakals in Sajid Nadiadwala production house received average talk. Tamanna’s increased presence in promotion of Entertainment increased the expectations about the movie in the minds of audience.
Akshay took special interest in promotion of this movie. In addition to 7 audio tracks already done by other professional singers, Akshay also sang Manage Mange Entertainment song for this movie. The movie promotion took place in several methods like theatrical trailer, promotion through tours and also by participation in many popular shows on small screen.
The lead pair (Akshay & Tamanna) toured the south India for promotion of the movie. The area is expected to be a huge market for the movie in view of presence of Tamanna and she is expected to attract audience from south. The promotional activities also included participation (of the lead pair) on the sets of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa as also news conference.
The movie Entertainment is Akshay Kumar’s 2nd biggest release on more than 3000 screens on 8th August 2014.
