North Stars Busy In Tollywood

Many of the north stars are finding increased acceptance from Tollywood. They are able to get repeat offers from Telugu movies.

Hyderabad: Rakul Preet Singh is one of the Bollywood names doing more in Telugu film industry. Rakul became famous for Telugu audience with her hit movie ‘Venkatadri Express’ and average film Rough with Aadi. Rakul is Femina Miss India contestant winning four sub-titles at the pageant like Femina Miss Talented, Femina Miss Beautiful Eyes, Femina Miss Fresh Face & Femina Miss beautiful Smile.After trying with 2 Tamil projects she ventured into Telugu film industry with Keratam. Her latest presence was in Yaariyan (Hindi movie) which collected record Rs.40 crores against a budget of Rs.11 crores and she became instant successful heroine.

Rakul is having many projects in Telugu film industry. She is presently filming projects with Ram (Pandaga Chesko directed by Gopichand Malineni), Manchu Manoj (Current Teega sharing screen with another Bollywood heroine Sunny Leone), Gopichand (untitled movie with Sri Waas as director) & Nitin (untitled movie with Srinivasa Reddy as director). All these movies are scheduled to release by end of 2014.

Radhika Apte is one actress who is very busy in north doing Hindi, Marathi & Bengali movies. After her performance in bi-lingual movies (Rakta Charitra & its sequel by Ram Gopal Verma), Radhika was roped in to play with Balayya in Legend. The movie became super hit and she is also roped for couple of other projects in Telugu.

Sonal Chauhan became popular with her movie ‘Buddha Hoga Tera Baap’. Her Telugu entry with Rainbow in 2008 ensured one more role for her in Balayya’s Legend.

Adah Sharma is popular actress with her films like ‘1920’, Phir, Hum Hai Rahee Car Ke, Hasee to Phasee etc. She became the female lead in Puri Jagannadh’s Heart Attack with Nitin in the lead role. The film double the budget (Rs. 16 crores budget and Rs.30 crores collections) and got talk of super hit. Adah Sharma is trying her luck in Hindi & south languages as well.

Raveena Tandon during her second innings could find a place in Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda of Mohanbabu’s family entertainer. This remake of Golmaal3 got good response at the box office as well.

Allu Arjun gave opportunity for north stars Amala Paul & Catherine Tresa in his movie Iddarammayilato. In view of the grand success of the movie, these female leads are more in demand.

Rasi Khanna started her career in Hindi with Madras Cafe 2013 and she got offer in Manam (cameo appearance) and also Oohalu Gusagusalade. In view of the success enjoyed by these movies, rasi Khanna is getting further offers from Tollywood like Gopichand’s untitled new movie with UV Creations.

Gurleen Chopra doing Hindi, Punjabi, Kannada, Bhojpuri & Tamil languages, could get reasonable offers to perform in Tollywood. She has Telugu movies like Ayudham, Oka Pellam Muddu Rendo Pellam Vaddu and Kaki. After small gap she found her place once again Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda and she is doing one more project ‘Siva Kesava’ scheduled to release at the end of 2014.
