Is AAP Going To Be A Closed Chapter?

The once most popular Aam Aadmi Party is gaining negative propaganda with the various decisions that the party has taken. The image of the party is also not on expected lines.

New Delhi: The popularity graph of the AAP has been steadily nose diving with every day going into history. Immediately after Delhi elections (where it secured 28 out of 70 MLAs in Delhi assembly) the popularity of the party and its coordinator Arvind Kejriwal has been one of the best in the country.

With the outside support of congress (with 7 MLAs), AAP formed government in Delhi. From the first day in office, Kejriwal continuously found faults with some action or the other and he constantly fought with the central government without caring for the voters who chose him to government. Citing the rejection of Jan Lok Pal bill, Kejriwal suddenly submitted AAP’s resignation (after 49 days in power in Delhi state) and advised the Delhi LG to go for fresh elections. The Delhi LG kept the Delhi state assembly in suspended animation stage while accepting the resignation of AAP government.

The popularity graph of the AAP and Kejriwal started declining from that moment. His popularity became so less that Kejriwal had to receive personal attacks from common men in various places in Delhi, Haryana etc.

Violating his own earlier statement, Kejriwal proposed more than 400 MP contestants on AAP ticket for the general elections. The result of the general elections proved to be a blow for the AAP once again. The party could win only 4 MP seats (that too in Punjab). The party’s performance along with the performance of the coordinator (Kejriwal himself) proved very minimal compared to Modi wave and tsunami.

Now Kejriwal is asking the Delhi LG to revive the state assembly. Now with the changed political scenario, the equations in the Delhi assembly also changed. Now BJP is in full swing and it is expecting to clean sweep Delhi assembly once again (if fresh elections are held). With the congress rejecting to extend support to AAP one more time, fresh elections to Delhi seems to be the only option. Under these circumstances, the AAP’s strength in terms of MLAs in Delhi is most likely to come down and also the CM is mostly likely to go to Kiran Bedi (on BJP ticket) who worked with Kejriwal in Anna Team in his fight for bringing Jan Lok Pal bill.

Above all, Kejriwal made public statements mentioning list of corrupt politicians (including Nitin Gadkari form BJP). Nitin filed defamation case and as Kejriwal could not produce before the court the evidence in support of his statement that Nitin is corrupt, the court ordered for judicial custody and now Kejriwal is put to custody for 14 days.

All the above is result of his own mistakes and the way things are moving, it is very clear that the AAP is shortly going to be a closed chapter.
