UPSC CAPF Exam 2014: Exam Pattern, Eligibility, Selection Procedure, Syllabus

UPSC CAPF Exam 2014 is going to be held on 13th July 2014. Both male and female candidates can apply for Assistant commandant in CRPF, BSF, SSB and CISF. In case of Assistant Commandant in ITBP only male candidates will be appointed.

Delhi: UPSC CAPF Exam 2014 is going to be held on 13th July 2014. For this examination both male and female candidates can apply. Both male and female candidates will be appointed in CRPF, BSF, SSB and CISF. In case of Assistant Commandant in ITBP only male candidates will be appointed. Age limitation is also strict follows for the appointment. Minimum age to apply for these posts sis 20 years and maximum age limit is 25 as on 1st August 2014. Age relaxation is applicable as per the notification. Completion of bachelor’s degree is the eligibility criteria for this examination.

Selection procedure: Candidates will be selected based on the Written Examination, Physical Efficiency Test and Personal Test / Interview.

Syllabus: Exam will be conducted in two papers namely Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is General Ability and Intelligence and Paper II is General Studies, Essay and Comprehension.

Paper I includes the topics such as General Mental ability, General Science, Current Events of National and International Importance, Indian Polity and Economy, History of India, Indian and World Geography.

Paper II consists of two Parts Part A and Part B. In Part A Essay questions to be answered either in Hindi or in English for 80 marks. Topics involved in this part are analytical ability, Knowledge of Security & human rights issues, polity & economy, modern Indian history especially of the freedom struggle. Part B is for 120 marks. This section covers the topics such as simple grammar, developing counter arguments, prcis writing, comprehension passages and other aspects of languages testing.

Physical Efficiency Test: This includes 100 meters race (Females- 18 seconds, Males -16 Seconds), 800 meters Race (Females – 4M 45 Seconds, males - 3 M 45 seconds), Long Jump (Females- 3Meters and Males – 3.5 Meters), Shot Put for males 7.26 kgs – 4.5 meters.

Exam Pattern: Paper I is for 250 marks, Paper II is for 200 marks, Physical Test and Personal Interview is for 200 marks.
