Fire Accident In Ap Secretariat Gives Rise To Many Doubts

The recent fire accident in C Block of AP Secretariat is giving rise to many doubts

Hyderabad: The sunday’s fire accident in C block of AP Secretariat destroyed many important files. While the series of fire accidents in secretariat are unfortunate, the same are giving rise to many doubts.

The secretariat is supposed to be one of the most secure places in view of the fact that the government activities are run from this place only. The various fire accidents in this building complex did not give any lesson to the administration.

The secretariat building has fire control room right in itself. The government is also spending huge amounts on safety and security of the building complex.

Despite the various safety measures taken by various departments, fire accidents became a common phenomenon. Sunday being a holiday, there were no staff available and hence no casualties but the important files got destroyed in the fire accident.

The recent fire accident is offering various doubts as under:

The state is going through general elections. The new government is expected to take place by 2nd June 2014. The earlier 10 years administration by congress is full of scams and with the fear that the new government (not necessarily from congress) might take a review of the various decisions. It is feared that in this background that there can be a conspiracy in the fire accident.

On the other hand, the state split (between Seemandhra & Telangana) is under process. Many important decisions are available in the files. Destruction of the files might create unwanted confusion regarding the division of the state as well.

The government on its part is required to ensure a proper enquiry on how the fire accident took place and give a consolidated list of files that got destructed.

The government is also required to take proper safety measures to ensure that the building complex is safe (as it would be shared by two state governments from 1st June). Proper safety and security arrangements need to be put in place without any further delay, to ensure safety of the secretariat staff as well as the important files that decide the fate of the people of the state.
