Team India Vs West Indies in T20 World Cup 2014 Today: Preview

Team India is going face another big challenge today in T20 World Cup 2014. It will meet West Indies today in another crucial match. India is full of confidence after defeating Pakistan in its first match.

Mirpur: West Indies – the defending champion cannot be under estimated. The team has Christ Gayle who is considered one of the most dangerous batsmen in the world and he is the biggest strength of the team. There are also other players who singlehandedly can win a match single handedly.

In T20 format, any opponent team of West Indies will concentrate on Gayle. We have seen his performance on Indian pitches when playing in IPL. Since Bangladesh pitches are similar to those in India, Team India has to be careful with Gayle. He has the ability to turn the match within minutes. It would be interesting to see how Indian bowlers will restrict this man who already challenged that he will score a century on any ground and against any team.

West Indies has a very strong batting line up. Even in lower order the team has batsmen like Sami and most of the batsmen are hitters. Johnson, Smith, Bravo, Samuel and Andry Russel are other important players in the team. West Indies played more matches in this format and won the two practice matches it played before the tourney. They also have good spinners.

Team India also has a strong batting line up with Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Dhoni, Jadeja, Sikhar Dhawan and Rohit. This match is crucial for India. Team India will be playing with three specialist spinners in this match. The team that won against Pakistan will be continued though out the tourney.

Openers Sikhar and Dhawan seems to be back on the track. Kohli and Raina are in good form. Yuvraj failure is worrying the team. Dhoni, Jadeja and Ashwin are ready to hit in the slot overs. India and West Indies played three T20 matches till now and India won only one match. Losing to West Indies was the main reason for Team India not reaching to knockout stage in 2009 and 2010 T20 world cups.

The pitch at Mirpur will favor the spinners. It is likely that the team that wins the toss will choose to field first.
