T20 World Cup 2014: India and Pakistan Meet in the First Super-10 Match Today

A match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is a treat for the cricket lovers. Today both these teams are meeting for the first time in T20 World Cup Super-10 match. Team India is facing a challenge in the beginning of the tournament itself. Keeping aside winning the cup, today’s match is crucial for both the teams. Both the teams are equally strong and it s very difficult to predict who will win the match.

Mirpur: Pakistan played more T20 matches that India and the winning percentage is also more. Dhoni team played last T20 match in October 2013. The fight between Afridi-Ashwin, Umar Gul-Virat Kohli, Ajmal-Dhoni is going to make the match more interesting. There is no doubt that both the teams are under tremendous pressure but India seems to be facing more problems. Failure of openers Sikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma and also the pace bowlers is worrying Team India. Kohli is in good form which is plus point for Team India. Raina is also coming to his form. Yuvraj Singh also performed better in the practice match. Though pace bowlers are disappointing, spinners Ashwin and Jadeja are bowling well.

On the other hand Pakistan batting is looking strong with Afridi, Hafeez and Akmal brother. There are Ajmal, Umar Gul and Tanvir for bowling. Ajmal can create problems for Indian batsmen. Over all, the first T20 match is going to entertain the cricket lovers.

As per records, Pakistan never won a match against India in any T20 world cup or in any one day world cup. Pakistan and India played three matches in T20 world cups till now and India won all the matches. But presently Pakistan is in a better form than India. Pakistan reached at least semi-finals in all the T20 world cups. Though India has a better batting line up, bowling is also crucial to restrict the opponent batsmen. It would be advisable to include Mishra in the final team. Mishra proved his talent in IPL. Openers Dhawan and Rohit failed again in both the warm up matches. Rohit should be sent to batting in the middle order. Kohli, Yuvraj and Raina are other senior players in middle orders.

Meanwhile Zimbabwe and UAE will play in the qualifying matches today and the match starts at 11.00 am IST. Other qualifying match schedule for today is Ireland Vs Netherlands which begins at 3.00 pm IST.
