Mahindra launched XUV 500 W4 for Rs. 10.83 lakhs – 0-60mph in 5.4 seconds and 15.1 ARAI certified mileage
Mahindra & Mahindra has finally unveiled the brand new W4 edition of the XUV 500 in the Indian market. It is the entry level variant and Mahindra is hoping to end this year with a blast. The look and feel of the model has been changed remarkably but engine remained untouched. The XUV 500 portfolio now consists of W8 all wheel drive, W8 front wheel drive, W6 Front Wheel Drive and a W4 FWD.
Mr. Pawan Goenka, the Executive Director and President for Automotive & Farm Equipment Sector of Mahindra & Mahindra has stated in connection with the launch of the W4 XUV 500 “The XUV 500 has resonated very well with our customers since its launch and has since become a trend setter within the Indian automotive industry. With over 74,000 vehicles on the road within two years of launch, the XUV500 is one of our most successful launches. As a customer centric organization, we have incorporated customer feedback at every step and evolved and today’s W4 model launch bears testimony to the same”.
The brand new W4 XUV 500 come fitted with a 2.2 litre mHawk diesel engine that is capable of generating around 140 bhp of power at the peak along with 330 Nm of torque. Mahindra has accompanied the engine with the 5th generation Variable Geometry turbo charger and a 6 speed manual transmission gear box. Mr. Pravin Shah, the Chief Executive for Automotive Division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Has stated “Since its launch in 2011, the XUV 500 has carved a special niche for itself in the minds of Indian consumers. The launch of the W4 model makes the XUV 500 proposition accessible to more customers who aspire to be proud owners of the Cheetah inspired XUV 500.
In spite of being an entry level model of the XUV 500, the W4 model is technology laden and with this launch, we aim to attract sedan & compact SUV buyers who wish to upgrade to the XUV 500”. The most significant factor of the model that can drive the attention of Indian buyers is awesome fuel efficiency of 15.1 kmpl certified by ARAI. Mahindra has priced the brand new XUV 500 W4 variant for Rs. 10.83 lakhs only.
