‘Common Man’s Car’ is now more economical - Tata Nano eMax CNG Launched and priced Rs. 2.45 – Rs. 2.72 lakhs

Finally, the most awaited moment has arrived as Tata Motors has unveiled the brand new Nano eMax CNG hatch back in the Indian market. Tata Motors has unveiled the model in Ahmedabad and Mr Ankush Arora, the Senior Vice President for Passenger Vehicles for Tata Motors has launched the model officially. There is not much change in the design of the model except the addition of two CNG cylinders beneath the driver’s seat.

The brand new Nano eMax CNG comes fitted with the same 624 CC petrol engine that can boost around 37 bhp of power at the peak when run with petrol. The same engine is capable of producing around 32 bhp of power at the peak along with 45 Nm of torque when run in CNG mode. As per the information, the new Nano eMax CNG promises mileage of 36 kilo meters per one kilogram of CNG. The fuel expenditure of the vehicle is minimized to just Rs 1.32 per every kilometre only. A five speed manual transmission gear box comes as standard with both CX and LX trims.

Mr Ankush Arora had a few words with the media in connection with the launch of the Nano eMax. He stated “At Tata Motors, the core philosophy behind the launch of every new vehicle is anticipating with our customers need and blending it with the best in class technology and design engineering. We are focusing on making Nano a smart city car. We will introduce a power steering option, improve interior and exterior of the car, improve fuel efficiency and target young customers.”

Tata is using intelligent advanced Engine Management System for making the switch between fuel petrol and CNG burning modes with much ease. Mr Arora has described the system as “This allows the vehicle to sense when the driver needs more power and thus, automatically shifts to gasoline mode. Switching between CNG and petrol driving modes on the fly is effortless, thanks to the push button fuel type selector. Additionally, the Tata Nano eMax CNG can also be started on CNG and not on petrol like other conventional CNG systems”.

Nano eMax CNG can assure around 150 kilometers of journey on CNG and around 375 kilometers of journey on petrol on a single full refill. Tata Motors is offering the Nano eMax CNG CX for Rs. 2.45 lakhs only whereas the eMax LX trim is offered for Rs. 2.72 lakhs.
